Samsung Download Mode: All What You Must Know

Part 1: What Is Samsung Download Mode and What Download Mode Can Do?

The Download Mode is a special booting mode that you can only find on Samsung devices. Once you enter this mode, you are in total control of your device. Going by its name, you can download updates in terms of packages and firmware through official means. This exclusive mode on any Samsung device is designed to let the users flash the firmware through Odin tool or any other desktop tool for flashing. Therefore, this mode is also called the Odin mode.

Your Samsung device should be in Download Mode prior to rooting it. Even though Odin is the commonly used tool for flashing, it is not the official tool. Instead, Kies is the official tool for upgrading the firmware as and when the company releases an update. However, before you can perform any such operations related to firmware, you should take full backup in case your device gets bricked.
Part 2: How to Enter Samsung Download Mode?

The Download Mode is a quite powerful and extremely useful mode for Samsung users especially those who like to flash or root their devices. By rooting your Samsung device and flashing it with custom ROM, you can get rid of the restrictions that generally exist by the company's ROM. You can also repartition the internal flash memory. However, before all that can happen, you have to enter the Download Mode on your Samsung device. Here are the steps to Enter Download Mode on Samsung Devices?

Step 1: Switch off your Samsung device first.

Step 2: Tap and keep pressing the Volume Down, Power and the Home key together at the same time. Keep holding down till the Samsung Logo screen or a Warning screen showing yellow triangle appears on the screen.

Note: The Power On button is referred to as Bixby button on Samsung S8.

Step 3: As soon as you let go off the above-mentioned key combination and see a screen showing up, immediately pressure the Volume Up button to enter the Download Mode.

This method works for all latest and older Galaxy Note and Galaxy S smartphones and even for Samsung S7/Galaxy S6 download mode.
Part 3: How to Exit Download Mode on Samsung Galaxy Note/S Series?

Now that you know how to enter the Download Mode on your Samsung device, you should now educate yourself on how to exit Download Mode once your job is done. You have to be very careful here as a single mistake can brick your device instantly. Before you can take your exit from the Download Mode, you need to make sure that there is no ongoing activity going on. For example, if the screen is showing that some operation is going on, you should not exit the mode and let the process complete undisturbed. Here are the steps to Exit Download Mode on Samsung Devices:

Step 1: Once you are sure that there is no process going on, hold the Home and Power On button together for a while. Power On button is the same as Bixby button from S8 onwards.

Step 2: Wait for the screen to shut down and Samsung Logo to appear. Then release the buttons.

Part 4: How to Fix Samsung Stuck in "Downloading...Do not turn off target"?

Given that fact that the Download Mode is quite useful, however, you should know that there could be times the device can get stuck in Download mode. Many Samsung users have reported the issues, and it is more likely to happen in older devices such as Galaxy S7 download mode. If you are stuck in Samsung Download mode, you must be getting a message on the screen such as "Downloading…Do not turn off target". Do not worry as we are providing you with the complete solution to fix Samsung stuck in issue.

Best sports games on Android 2019

Best sports games on Android 2019

Maybe you think it's time to get back into sports? Saying it is good, doing it is better. But due to lack of time (or will), it's not always easy to adapt your schedule to go running, so why not settle for your smartphone screen? Here's a selection of the best sports games on Android. Unfortunately, you will not benefit from the positive effects of sport on your health, but you will have just as much fun.
FIFA Soccer

If you are a big fan of soccer, you probably know about this. FIFA Soccer is a good game series that benefits from the full partnership with the official football association. The gameplay is quite pleasant, it may take a few minutes to get familiar with the controls but it remains very simple overall. Find more than 10,000 players from more than 500 licensed teams, win cups, make transfers... it's a complete experience.

However, there are two major flaws: the first is the need to be always connected to the Internet, the second is the size of the application itself, which requires the installation of new data once the application is downloaded (about 1GB).

FIFA Soccer
Zombies, Run!

If you want to reconcile play with actual sport, then this one is for you. The principle is simple: you have to run away to escape the zombies that are hunting for you. Just start running and let the sound of the game guide you. It can get scary! If you don't like running without a goal, then this can help gamify your experience and have some more fun with your exercise.

The best Android games that don't need an Internet connection

Zombies, Run! (Free)
PES CLUB MANAGER

PES Club Manager is for those who prefer to wear the coach's cap rather than those who like to run on the field. The first thing to do is to start your club and then find a player to start. Then you can start to take an interest in the championship: train your players, manage your sponsors, be strategic. It's a good application to see football differently.

PES CLUB MANAGER
NBA 2K19

Basketball fans can't miss NBA2K's new album. NBA 2K19 for mobile offers new features, including a new story mode. The gameplay has also been improved with simpler controls. Compared to previous years, the progression is much easier than previous versions and requires less hand to pocket, but the game has some drawbacks that may discourage some players, such as the lack of multiplayer mode.

The new Android games not to be missed

You can download this game from the Play Store
8 Ball Pool

Miniclip made this game and the least we can say is that it is as good as it is popular. You can hone your skills in the training arena, once you get to the level you will be able to defeat players from all over the world in 1-on-1 or by participating in tournaments to win exclusive trophies and billiard cues! Of course, if your friends also play this game, you can easily challenge them with your Miniclip or Facebook account.

Another interesting feature: the opponents are of an equivalent skill level, so as to ensure a fair challenge. 8 Ball pool also allows you to customize your table and cue. You earn chips as you go along, which will allow you to enter higher level games where the stakes are higher, or to buy new items in the shop.

8 Ball Pool
Rugby manager

Just like PES CLUB MANAGER, this game aims to make you a real manager of your team. Don't imagine that you will be able to play a specific player, or lead your players manually on the field, this is about strategy and preparation. One great strength of the game for some: the game is multiplayer and is also available on a web browser.

Rugby Manager
Grand Mountain Adventure

If skiing doesn't suit the season, you will always be able to do it virtually any time of year. This open-world skiing game offers five mountain resorts to explore (only the first one is free, the others will have to be paid for). To put it simply, it's like being in a ski resort. You can do all the runs or go off-piste. Many figures and challenges are on the menu. However, a word of advice: beware of avalanches and bears!

How to take a screenshot on Android

A screenshot is a handy tool for proving something, or for quickly capturing a snapshot of something you like on your smartphone screen. In this article, we'll show you how to take and edit screenshots on Android, and we'll also tell you how to record a video of your screen.

How to take a screenshot

On most Android devices, the following key combination takes a screenshot:

Go to the screen you wish to capture.

Press and hold the Power and Volume Down buttons (or Power and Home buttons on a older Samsung or HTC phone).

Hold down both buttons until you hear the click or a flash indicating that the screen has been captured.

Swipe down from the top of the screen.

Tap the new screenshot notification to view the screenshot.

Often, you will then have the option to share or delete the screenshot directly. This may save you time from manually having to search for the screenshot.

Android 9.0 Pie has added a new option: you can also press and hold the Power button to get a Screenshot option to pop up on screen. You can then edit the screenshot from the notification bar and mark it to highlight a particular area.

Some manufacturers offer additional shortcuts, for example:

OnePlus 5, 5T, and 6: Swipe down with three fingers on the home screen.

Sony Xperia phones: Hold down the power key until a screen appears and tap Take a screenshot.

With Samsung, you can edit screenshots right away. / © AndroidPIT

The screenshots can be found in the gallery under Screenshots. When accessed via USB on a computer, they can be found in the internal memory or on the SD card in the directory /Pictures/Screenshots, and in the case of Samsung smartphones, in the directory DCIM/Screenshots.

If your smartphone doesn't provide post-processing options for screenshots, we can recommend the free screenshot app: Screen’it. It provides important filters to make phone numbers, names, or email addresses unrecognizable in screenshots.

Screenit - Screenshot App
Take a screenshot on Samsung phones

Samsung is one of the most popular Android smartphone manufacturers and famous for making their devices work just a little differently. The two button press button works on Samsung phones, but it's a little different if your device is one of the older phones with a physical home button.

Galaxy S8 and later: Press and hold down the Power and Volume Down buttons for a few seconds.

Galaxy S7 and earlier: Press and hold down the Power and Home buttons for a few seconds.
Palm Swipe to Capture on Samsung phone

Most Samsung phones released after 2013 also offer 'Palm Swipe' shortcut to take screenshots. To do this:

Set your hand vertically on one side of the screen, fingers straight like in a karate chop

Horizontally swipe with the bottom edge of your hand across the screen

The camera shutter sound should activate and a screenshot saved to the gallery

Android screen capture is really easy and convenient! However, you may find it’s rather troublesome when your screenshots get lost or deleted by accident. In this case, you may need a professional Android data recovery software like Gihosoft Android Data Recovery. With this freeware, you are able to recover deleted screenshot from Android internal memory or SD card effortlessly! Also Read:Update Android

Take a screenshot with the S Pen

If you have a Galaxy Note9, Galaxy Note 8, Galaxy Note 5, Galaxy Note 4, Galaxy Note 3, or other Samsung device with an S Pen, you can use it to take a screenshot.

Pull out the S Pen stylus, or hover the pen over the screen and clicking the button on it.

This should open the Air Command menu

Select Screen Write from the Air Command options to take a screenshot.

You can then write notes on top of the image. There are options in the top toolbar to change your pen color and size. You can also erase or undo strokes and there is a Crop option at the bottom.

Tap Share or Save at the bottom when you're done.
Take a screenshot with Google Assistant

You can also ask Google Assistant to take a screenshot for you, provided you have it set up. When you're on the screen you want to capture, just say, "OK Google, take a screenshot," and it should immediately do so, saving a picture of the screen below the Assistant interface.

Google Assistant tips and tricks: beginner to expert

The best Google Assistant commands you have to try

This does mean that if you want to capture the Google Assistant screen itself, you'll have to use the hardware buttons.
Scroll shows: long screenshots

Screenshots aren't just for capturing segments of an image and cropping. There are also several types of screenshots in Android. Some manufacturers offer the scroll shot in addition to the conventional screenshot. This is particularly suitable for making images of longer texts or websites. The way it works is simply ingenious:

How to capture scrolling screenshots on Android

The software takes the first screenshot, rolls down a bit, takes the next one, and so on, and fits the pieces together at the end. We tried it out on the AndroidPIT homepage and uploaded it to Google Photos. Click here to see the example.

If your smartphone does not have a scrollshot feature, you can retrofit it with an app like Longshot or Screen Master.

Capture on-screen videos

Some Sony smartphones have a screen recording function in the power-off menu. Press and hold the power button to enter the options menu. The MP4 format recordings should be in /Movies/RecordScreen.

Screen recording is easy with a Sony smartphone. / © AndroidPIT

Also, Huawei smartphones can create screen videos with knuckle gestures. In the Huawei Mate 9, for example, tap twice with two knuckles to record video.

For Samsung smartphones like the Samsung Galaxy S6 or newer, this is found through the Game Launcher (which must be installed on the S6). However, this is limited to games or at least individual apps.

Record a live video of your screen and set it to music. / © AndroidPIT

Other smartphones without a built-in recording function can be retrofitted with a screen recorder app. Our preferred tool is AZ Screen Recorder. These recordings are created with sound from your microphone, so you can comment directly on what you are doing. A muffled tapping underlines screen touches. The MP4 files end up in the AZRecorderFree directory and are around 24 MB/minute in size.

AZ Screen Recorder - No Root
It's easy to take whatever kind of screenshot you like

After many revisions in the operating system, the creation of screenshots and scrollshots in Android has become easier over the years. If your smartphone manufacturer doesn't yet have such a tool, it can simply be retrofitted with apps from the Play Store.

Do you know of any other cool ways to take a screenshot? Let us know in the comments below.

Apple Admits Intentionally Slowing down Older iPhones, Here’s What You Can Do about It

Apple Admits Intentionally Slowing down Older iPhones, Here’s What You Can Do about It
Why Apple Slows down Old iPhones?
1 Protect Devices with Older Batteries

According to Apple, they do this to protect the devices with relatively older batteries. They said that lithium ion batteries cannot handle the processing demands as expected when they age, it results in problems such as the device shutting down unexpectedly. So they release new update that causes the iPhone to slow down and reduce its performance in order to prevent those unexpected shutdowns.

So the reason to slowing down older iPhones is pretty clear. It is directly associated with the flagging battery. As the processor of an iPhone makes a big current draw from such a battery, the battery may deliver the current in spikes which is bad because it can damage the different components of the phone. As a precaution, iPhone unexpectedly shuts down to protect its processor from that damage. Also Read:Voice Changing Apps & Software for Skype
Sponsor ads:Fix SD Card Error on GoPro Hero

This unexpected shutdown issue became widespread in 2016, which forced the company to come up with an update that included a fix, causing the phone to slow down with somewhat old, low-charged, or cold battery, Apple said.

Other common reasons why old iPhones slow down include (but not limited to) the following:
2 OS Upgrades

New OS upgrades introduce new features and functionalities. And if your device has a relatively older hardware, then it makes sense that it doesn’t have enough resources to handle the extra overhead. As a result, the device feels a bit slower.
3 App Updates

Similar to OS upgrade, some apps also have the same effect on phone’s performance. Apps become bloated with newer updates and the added features require relatively more resources, causing them to eat up more CPU and RAM. Hence, the phone’s performance feels slower.

You can also refer to the following video to learn about why Apple slows down old iPhones:
